Artist Statement:
Rebecca studied Illustration at Falmouth College of Arts in 2000. Her first published book for children entitled 'Flagtastic Flags' was printed in 2006, since then she has worked with a variety of clients across the country. Rebecca's latest work 'Do Humans Dream of Electric Cars' has been published with Alastair Sawday, commissioned by Sustrans and released in June 2009.
She uses her training in illustration as a platform for her artwork as a painter, centred on colour and bold shapes. A keen interest in beautiful buildings has led her to create her own representations of buildings in and around Bristol. Central to her work is her fascination with perspective, which is sometimes pushed to its limits, resulting in a unique look at some of the West's most treasured and enjoyed landscapes. This series of artwork has been built up over the past few years. Many of the pieces have been sold already, but there are Giclee prints available so that viewers can see the whole collection.
