Artist Statement I was Born and raised on the Isle of Wight. I now live in Bristol. During my childhood I was very competent at drawing, though I didn't take my abilities seriously enough to pursue a career in art. 23 years later I accidentally rediscovered my ability mid 2010, whilst using digital software (Photoshop) to casually manipulate photographs on my computer. This software offered me the opportunity to paint digitally, using a digital pen tablet. I soon began to create my own compositions from scratch. My particular artistic interest is in the filed of concept art. Concept art is a form of illustration where the main goal is to convey a visual representation of a design, idea, and/or mood for use in films, video games, animation, or comic books etc. Through books, DVD tutorials and free internet resources I began to learn the art of conceptual composition. My tools: iMac i7 (27 inch screen), Wacom Intuos 4 Large, Photoshop CS5 Extended and a range of Copic markers for sketching ideas on paper. |
